Why I Founded Growth Rooted

My Roots

I come from generations of gardeners and farmers, raised in Iowa where life is measured in planting and harvest. That early understanding—that growth is seasonal, deliberate, and dependent on the systems that support it—continues to shape how I lead.

Growth Rooted partners with organizations working in food, agriculture, horticulture, conservation, and climate resilience. I’m committed to supporting the people who nourish communities, steward the land, and shape a more sustainable future. These organizations deserve the same strategic clarity and operational discipline as any high-growth industry. For me, this work is both personal and urgent.

Strategy, People, and Execution—Connected

For nearly two decades, I’ve worked at the intersection of strategy and execution. I bridge teams, align priorities, and drive measurable outcomes.

At USDA, I established a new partnership office that expanded collaboration with community-based organizations. In startups, I accelerated the launch of life-saving healthcare innovations in fast-moving, high-stakes environments. At a billion-dollar insurer, I guided the portfolio of new technology infrastructure that unlocked access to care for millions. In the nonprofit sector, I launched new revenue streams and delivered results in a resource-constrained setting.

My favorite place to lead from is the messy middle, where vision meets execution, and strong leadership turns complexity into progress.

Values-Centered Leadership

At the core of my leadership is a belief in people. I empower individuals to excel and guide teams to reach their full potential.

Growth Rooted is built on:

  • Resilience and grit. We lead through uncertainty and take bold steps forward.

  • Clarity and care. We move fast and bring people along.

  • Outcomes, not outputs. Strategy only matters when it drives real, measurable results.
